Jason Halstead

You have reached the website of Jason Halstead. While I'm not available to take your call, I am happy to read and respond to any emails sent my way by using the email icon in the upper right corner of the site above. Sometimes it takes me a day or two, but I've yet to leave a reasonable person waiting longer than that.

Okay, so who are you and why do you have so many books?

Good question, why do I have so many books? Well, I write a lot. Between my books and the books I collaborate on with my wife (Dawn Michelle), I'm planning on publishing around 30 books in 2015. What? That's insane! Well, don't worry, more than half of those will probably be the paranormal romance titles that my wife is known for.

Sci-fi and fantasy not your thing? That's cool. I've written romance, espionage, erotica, and detective books too. Factor in the paranormal romance I write with my wife's input and assistance and you've got a writer able and willing to tackle any genre as long as the caracters and the story are good. Science fiction and fantasy remain the nearest and dearest to my heart though.

Where do I start?

With so many books, that's an easier question than you might think. Like futuristic science fiction? Try Vitalis or Dark Universe. Want something closer to home, like a post-apocalyptic or near future sci-fi story? Go with Wanted or Human Nature.

Let's say fantasy is more your thing. You're in luck! The Blades of Leander series starts with Child of Fate and was a bestseller on Amazon for several months when it was released. After that the adventures in the world of Kroth continue with the Order of the Dragon series and a new series called The Serpent's War. Even more successful over time, the Voidhawk series takes medieval fantasy into the void (space), and explores the infinite magical creatures and possibilities that exist between worlds.

Is urban fantasy more your style? Great news, there's a series waiting. Dark Earth. This takes the modern world and introduces paranormal and fantasy elements. And after those books are done it only gets better - The Lost Girls takes place in the Dark Earth setting, but several decades in the future. It's still near future and relatable, but a lot has changed. What hasn't changed is the crimes and the scumbags that commit them. The Lost Girls follows a dynamo of a detective through several books as she tries to save the world and maybe, somewhere along the way, herself as well. For the sake of making hypothetical conversations, let's say somebody wants something a little more mature. Maybe with an espionage or law enforcement angle to it. After all, everyone has different tastes. And here are some different flavors to satisfy those tastes. Homeland is the answer! Or, if the thought of a detective story thrills you but you're not looking for any other thrills, try out Cookie Cutters.

Anything Else Worth Knowing?

Sure there is! I'm a well rounded guy, or at least that's what my therapist tells me. I'm definitely more than just a prolific writer, I'm also a Lead Software Developer by day that spends spare time with my wife and two children. There's a cat, a dog, and a small tankful of fish in the picture too. On top of all that, I'm a borderline fitness junky and a former record-holding powerlifter. Oh, and I really enjoy corresponding with readers, so don't be shy. Hit me up about any of my books (or any other books), fitness, nutrition, or how cold and miserable the weather in Michigan is.
